My pretty babies having a picnic in their new matching outfits.

When I was Cheese’s age (5) my aunt Deb was my hero. She always knew the perfect gift for everyone! On my birthday, she drove my grandma and me to the bakery to pick up my cake, she had to make a stop. She went in and came out with a tall something in a black garbage bag. She told me her garbage can broke and she needed a new one. We got home, and festivities ensued. When it came to the presents, I opened them all excitedly, but there was none from Aunt Deb. How could that be? AUNT DEB NEVER DISAPPOINTS! She was shocked! (she needed an oscar for that performance) How could she forget to get me a present… well, she supposed I could have the garbage can… My silly five year old self was actually excited to have my own garbage can for my bedroom! But I took the black bag off, and instead of a garbage can, it was the tallest and most beautiful doll I had ever seen! Bigger than me, even (which in retrospect, wasn’t that hard)!

Now for years I’ve wanted a picnic basket. Last night, my cousin called and asked if she could come over and drop something off for the girls from her mom (deb), I said sure. I’ll be damned if it wasn’t a real life, honest to goodness, hinged lidded, yogi teasing pick-a-nick basket! And toys, snacks and the pictured matching outfits. She’s still got it!
